Jan 03, 2008 Highest wind speeds ever seen at Lake Arenal.
At the windmills a gust of 112 mph was registered. No windsurfing, no kiting, no
rescue service. Three of the windmills fell over. Seven electricity posts in
Sabalito were pulled over. Power outage for two days. I windsurfed a 3.2 on Jan

Sep 25, 2007 The new bridge across the recent gap in the highway along Lake Arenal between Sabalito and Tilarán has been opened to traffic last night. The gap was caused by excessive rain on August 30.

Mar 14, 2007 Driving along the highway along the lake I spotted howler monkeys crossing the road using the telephone cable.
I stopped and then I saw that some of them were crossing at ground level. This is the first time in my years in Costa Rica that I have seen howler monkeys out of a tree. The one on the road in the photos is very young.

Nov 29, 2006 I found this video clip on YouTube. Starting a jump, a windsurfer loses his rig in a spectacular way. The clip was taken at the Tico Wind site. Flaco is the sailor. He was on a 4.2.
